Daniel Johns Natalie Imbruglia Wedding Music Done Like A Soundtrack > 16.01.2004

The man behind the music at the Daniel Johns and Natalie Imbruglia wedding says he designed his 'sounds cape' like a soundtrack.

"The intention was to provide a Soundtrack to the movie at hand, the Wedding" producer Marcus Francisco tells Undercover News. "Similar to movie Soundtracks and Sounds capes, we performed in a way that there was continuous music, with an explicit dynamic range, through out the night. Also, providing textural diversity by exchanging musicians and instruments as the night progressed, reaching the most intensity around the time when the Wedding cake was cut".

The songs chosen for the night included a combination of classical and world tune tunes performed with a classical and improvised approach.

He says "some of the tunes chosen for the Wedding were 'Afro Blue' Mongo Santamaria, 'Conference of the Birds' by Dave Holland, 'Crystal Silence' by Chick Corea, 'Oya Como Va' by Tito Puente, 'Ran Kan Kan' also by Tito Puente, 'Cleef's Theme' Alies Sluiter (classical), 'Up High' Alies Sluiter (classical). There were also compositions by a Group called The Bronx Horns and unknown Classical pieces".

Musicians at the wedding were:
Marcus Francisco - World Percussion (Brazilian and Latino Percussion)
Nick Karasavvidis - Drums
Salvador Persico - World Percussion (Latino Percussion)
Cindy Taylor - Classical Percussion (Marimbas and Effects)
Chris Karasavvidis - Acoustic Bass
Michael Maegher - Upright Bass
Tom Martin - Guitar
Fran Swinn - Guitar
Eric Budd - Trombone, Trumpet, Flute, Ocean Shells
Danny Healy - Alto, Tenor, Baritone Saxophone, Flute
James Annesley - Tenor Saxophone
Cameron McAllister - Trumpet
Evan Williams - French Horn
Alies Sluiter - Violin
Tamil Rogeon - Violin
Louise Woodward - Viola
Naomi Wileman - Cello
Diane Peters - Harp
Caitlin Williams - Flute

Marcus says "the power of the group is that each individual, on their own, is capable of telling a story with their own instrument. By having all of us together, willing to listen to each other and musically converse with one another, we take the road map, which are the tunes at hands but chose to take different roads and approaches to get to the destination."

Daniel Johns and Natalie Imbruglia were married on New Years Day near Port Douglas in Queensland on New Year's Eve.
