Beauty and the beach: Natalie Imbruglia went for complete privacy when she married the rock singer Daniel Johns by choosing a remote setting on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The former Neighbours starlet, 28, and Daniel, 24, wed in a marquee on the lawns of Thala Beach Lodge, near Port Douglas in Queensland, surrounded by family and close friends in a ceremony described as “beautifully moving, non-traditional and spiritual”.

Afterwards guests, including Nicole Kidman and Kylie Minogue, joined the couple for a vegetarian wedding breakfast in a room filled with fresh daisies. Everyone stayed at the resort for three days, in 85 wooden bungalows, built on high stilts to make the most of views over the 145 acres of tropical forest.
